Pre Kinder is a gentle introduction to Kindergarten.
Our aim is to set students up to flourish in the Pre Kinder classroom. We do this by teaching the essential skills of learning. We teach students to think critically and creatively, encouraging them to imagine, question and problem solve. We help students to learn how to communicate and collaborate, how to solve conflicts and brainstorm ideas.
We use a well-researched preliteracy program which allows students to hear sounds and make words. We develop foundational Mathematics skills, and focus on the learning of skills to help us relate to each other.
As part of a larger college, we are able to participate in a range of activities within the Broughton community, including Chapel, Assembly and visits to the IRC (Information Resource Centre). Our Senior students who study Child Studies also develop programs and special days for our students.
Pre Kinder is the main entry point for Junior School and it allows for a great transition into full time schooling.
