Grandparents’ Day

Grandparents’ Day

Having our students’ grandparents and great-grandparents visit the College on Grandparents’ Day and joining their grandchildren in their classes was a very special day.

It was a day where we could witness the beautiful connection between the grandparents and their grandchildren - it is indeed a very special relationship.

Grandparents’ Day was an opportunity for students to show their grandparents their creativity and talents in their classrooms as well as in performances in the concert. It was especially a day of celebration where the children celebrated the love that their grandparents give them. The Grandmas, Nannas, Grannies, Pa’s, Poppies, Granddads celebrated the great privilege they have to love, guide and support their sons and daughters and their grandsons and granddaughters.

Thank you to all involved in the planning of this special day - thank you to the students in our Junior School who performed in the concert and who made our classrooms so welcoming; thank you to the Year 11 Hospitality class who cooked over 300 tasty scones; thank you to our marvellous staff and thank you to the members of the College Parent Committee who helped with morning tea.

Thank you also to our special guest, Mrs Michelle Irwin, grandmother of Brooklyn (Year 4), Amelie (Year 3) and Logan (Kindergarten). Mrs Irwin shared with usthe special relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren and shared some special quotes:

God’s most precious work of art is the warmth of a grandchild’s heart.

A Grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher and a little bit best friend.

Simple moments with your grandchildren become priceless memories.
