Scholarship Opportunities

Broughton Anglican College is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for students, who have displayed a level of excellence in identified areas, to develop their gifts and talents in a Christian environment.

 

Academic Scholarships

Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. This may include general academic excellence or exceptional performance in a specific subject area.

Performance Scholarships

Recognising excellence in performance-based fields, such as:
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Visual Arts
  • Sport

Leadership and Service Scholarships

Awarded to students who show significant positive influence and leadership, particularly in areas such as Christian leadership or contribution as a First Nations student.

The College recognises that Gifted and Talented students demonstrate unique characteristics and have particular learning needs that require targeted adjustments and teaching and learning interventions.

We are committed to provide an academically rigorous education in a dynamic Christian environment so that all students may be given the opportunity to develop their full God given potential.

What a Scholarship Involves

Recipients of a Broughton scholarship are provided with unique opportunities designed to support their growth and contribution:
  • Percentage reduction in tuition fees for the duration of enrolment at the College.
  • Access to scholarship mentors who provide guidance in specialist areas.
  • Participation in tailored Gifted Co-curricular Programs and academic competitions (e.g. da Vinci Decathlon, ICAS, Tournament of Minds).
  • Opportunities for subject or grade acceleration, as well as access to extension classes with like-minded peers.
  • Support from Pastoral Care Teams and wellbeing programs for gifted students.
  • Involvement in leadership opportunities and chances to serve as ambassadors in specific fields such as Creative Arts, STEM, or Christian Ministry.

Expectations of Scholarship Students

Students awarded a scholarship are expected to:
  • Maintain excellence in their scholarship area.
  • Actively engage in curricular and co-curricular programs.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour and integrity.
  • Represent the College as positive ambassadors, both within the community and in external contexts.
Scholarships are reviewed regularly, with ongoing continuation dependent on students meeting the College’s expectations.
