Introduction

The aim of Senior School is to offer a rich, holistic education that enables students to acquire new skills, pursue their interests to become men and women who know God and live a life through Christ.

While many students begin their journey at Broughton from Pre Kinder, we also welcome graduating students from St. Peter’s Anglican Grammar and other local primary schools. Under the leadership of the Deputy Principal Senior School, we’ve established frameworks that prioritise the pastoral and academic needs of our students. Our educational approach encourages students to cultivate a mature, wise, and biblically centred perspective of the world, nurturing their intellectual growth and spiritual understanding.

Building confident, self-motivated learners
Years 7 & 8

Nurturing student independence, resilience, and confidence through enriching learning experiences. Our goal is to enable each and every student to achieve their full potential academically, socially, physically, and spiritually.

Students encouraged to direct their learning

Students are encouraged to challenge themselves through academic, leadership and co-curricular opportunities. We encourage students to explore their interests and strengths to make well-informed choices about their future.

Future-ready, focused on a strong finish
Years 11 & 12

Our goal is to support every student in achieving their personal goals, nurturing their academic and creative talents, equipping them with initiative, and preparing them to become men and women who know God and live a life through Christ.

Information Resource Centre (IRC)

Broughton offers a wealth of resources, both physical and digital, accessible through the IRC. The IRC’s digital resource collection can be accessed from home through the online catalogue and includes subscription databases, eBooks and digital encyclopaedias. Supported by a qualified Teacher Librarian, the IRC plays a vital role in curriculum support, from P-12, by curating relevant resources and delivering support in information literacy skills across all grades and curriculum areas. Instilling a love of reading and literature is a primary focus within our learning environment.

After School tutoring

Provision is made for Years 7-12 students to attend after school tutoring four days per week for homework or study purposes. The IRC is a supportive learning environment that enables quiet focused study for students, with flexible spaces so they can work independently or collaboratively. Tutors support students in completing homework, developing study skills and research skills, and with scaffolding and guidance to complete assessments. They also provide small group academic support for students.
