From 2026, Broughton Anglican College is expanding its Performing Arts program, enriching both the breadth and quality of creative opportunities available to students. This growth reflects the College’s commitment to nurturing God-given gifts and fostering a vibrant culture of creativity, confidence and collaboration. With the addition of highly experienced educators and industry professionals, students will benefit from an exceptional learning environment that supports artistic excellence across music, drama and performance. A dynamic calendar of concerts, competitions and showcases will provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop their skills, express their creativity and connect with the wider College community.
Broughton’s band program continues to grow, building on a strong tradition of excellence in ensemble performance. Under the leadership of experienced conductors, students have the opportunity to participate in a range of ensembles that develop musicianship, teamwork and performance confidence. New initiatives, including the School of Rock program and an auditioned Senior Contemporary Vocal Group, will further expand opportunities for students to perform contemporary music in collaborative and engaging settings.
Students will learn from a team of highly skilled educators and professional musicians who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Contemporary music tutors Mr Scott Baldwin and Mr Dan OpdeVeigh will support students in developing their instrumental and vocal skills, drawing on extensive industry and performance backgrounds. Alongside our dedicated staff, these mentors are committed to guiding each student’s musical journey with care, expertise and encouragement.
The Performing Arts program offers a rich calendar of events, including concerts, competitions and major productions. With the addition of experienced director and educator Ms Hayley Craddock, students will have increased opportunities to participate in high-quality theatre experiences. Events such as pop and rock concerts, Battle of the Bands, songwriting competitions and The Broughton Voice will showcase student talent and provide valuable performance experience in a supportive, community-focused environment.
